Anyone here using videos for Easter church content? (Still kind of in the Easter season
)
So yeah⦠I know Easter just passed, but weāre technically still in the Easter season, and Iāve been helping out with some church content lately.
One thing I noticed:
videos seem to make a bigger difference than I expected.
Weāre a pretty small team, no dedicated media person or anything, so everything is kind of āfigure it out as we go.ā This year I tried adding a few simple videos into the service, and honestly⦠it changed the vibe quite a bit.
Curious if others are doing something similar.
What I tried
Nothing too fancy, just a few basic things:
1. A short opening video
Just something to start the service instead of jumping straight in.
It was like 30ā40 seconds with some text + music + simple visuals.
Felt like people settled in faster.
2. Background loops during worship/prayer
Didnāt expect much from this, but it actually helped a lot.
Just soft visuals (light, nature, that kind of thing) playing in the background.
Didnāt distract, but made the whole moment feel less āempty.ā
3. A simple Easter story video for kids
This one was the hardest.
Tried finding something online, but:
-
too long
-
too complex
-
or just didnāt match what we needed
How I made them (non-designer perspective)
I donāt do video editing at all. Like⦠zero ![]()
So I tried two approaches:
Option 1: Free stock clips
Used stuff from sites like Pexels/Pixabay.
Pros:
-
free
-
decent quality
Cons:
-
hard to find clips that actually match your message
-
still takes time to piece everything together
Option 2: Trying an AI tool
I randomly tried this thing called HitPaw Online AI Video Generator.
Didnāt expect much, but it was surprisingly usable.
Basically you just type what you want, like:
āEaster theme, cross, empty tomb, soft light, hopeful moodā
ā¦and it generates a video for you.
I used it mainly for:
-
the opening video
-
a simplified version of the Easter story for kids
Itās definitely not perfect, but for someone with no editing skills, it saved a lot of time.
Overall thoughts
If youāre thinking about adding video, Iād say:
-
start small (opening or background loops are easiest)
-
donāt overcomplicate it
-
shorter is usually better
-
make sure it supports the message, not distracts
