I just saw that The Black Phone 2 is officially coming out on October 17, 2025, and I couldn’t be more excited! The first one (released back in 2021) is still one of my favorite recent horror films — creepy atmosphere, great pacing, and that perfect mix of tension and mystery.
To get ready for the sequel, I rewatched the original last weekend — and wow, it still holds up. I even ran a few scenes through a movie quality enhancer just to clean up the darker shots, and it honestly made the experience even better. The shadows and lighting felt way more cinematic.
I’m really curious to see how the second movie builds on that eerie tone — and if we’ll get more of that unsettling “phone call” tension the first one nailed so well.
Anyone else rewatching The Black Phone (2021) before the sequel drops? Or are you saving the chills for October?
