This International Animation Day, I revisited one of my all-time favorite anime — Death Note.
It’s crazy how something I watched years ago can still hit so hard today. The story, the lighting, the intensity — everything still holds up.
But since the original clips I had were a bit grainy and low-res, I decided to give them a little upgrade using an AI video enhancer. I used HitPaw VikPea Video Enhancer to restore sharpness and color, and the result honestly surprised me.
The shadows looked richer, the motion smoother, and the overall vibe felt more cinematic — without losing that nostalgic 2D look.
It made me appreciate how far technology has come — we can now upscale old anime or fix low-quality clips in just a few clicks.
It’s a small way to celebrate the art of animation — keeping those classic moments alive in better quality. ![]()
