Most of us have seen the “Native 4K vs Upscaled 4K” debate pop up, but in real life… can you really tell the difference?
Native 4K = every pixel is real, crystal-clear detail.
Upscaled 4K = takes 1080p/720p and “fills in the blanks” with algorithms (sometimes AI).
Honestly, most older videos, YouTube clips, and even some games aren’t truly 4K to begin with. That’s why I’ve been trying out HitPaw VikPea, and it surprised me — it actually makes my old 1080p clips look close to native 4K by restoring textures and cleaning up noise.
So I’m curious:
Do you care about true 4K content, or are you fine with smart AI upscaling?
Has anyone here compared native vs upscaled side by side?
Would love to hear your thoughts!
