The Vikpea anime encode gets to 99% and it just sits there. For hours

I had this happen back in January, but it seemed to go away. (Software update?).

I am using the Animation Model on some old anime.

They are all MP4 files with 2 audio tracks and 1 or 2 subtitle tracks.

I put 20 files in the Video Enhancer and select Animation Model.

And start the encode. Everything seems fine. The GPU is being used.

However; at around 98 or 99% encode the process just stops. The GPU is NOT being used.

And it will still there until I intervene.

After some experimentation I found if I run one encode at a time; then wait for the encode to reach 98 or 99% encode; and see that it’s stopped; I press pause. Wait a moment, then press resume. The encode checks itself and then comes to an end. Successfully.

Which is nice, but if I want to encode 20 or 30 files overnight, it’s a pointless exercise.

So has anyone encountered this? If so do you have a resolution?

Or something I can check; as I’m out of ideas; EXCEPT for uninstalling Hitpaw Vikpea and reinstalling it “fresh”.

Thanks for your time.

I thought I’d take my own advice on this one and un=install, then re-install Vikpea.

And oddly enough that appears to have worked.

I have no idea why, unless it was a software problem that was cleared by the fresh install.

Anyway, working again. I’ll follow up again tomorrow.

Thanks for your feedback, if there are any other issues in the future, feel free to let us know.
